The Cameras, Lenses, and Flash

It all starts with the equipment. Colorado Film Works uses professional grade cameras like the Canon 20D with professional grade lenses and flashes. Why use digital cameras? By going digital, we produce higher quality images, shoot more pictures (and thus have more to choose from for your final prints), and can enhance and optimize the photos in our digital darkroom software. And while most photographers hold you hostage by selling you prints at inflated prices (and they don't provide you the negatives), Colorado Film Works provides you all the photos on a CD-ROM so you can create as many additional prints as you wish.

The Photographers

Our photographers have years of experience of photographing weddings and other events in a variety of lighting conditions and are experts at coming up with the perfect shots to capture the beauty of the wedding couple and the full wedding experience. Besides orchestrating memorable shots of the bride, groom and wedding party, we photograph the interesting details of the day such as the flowers, the exterior of the church, the veil, the children in attendance, etc.

In our pre-wedding consultation, we discuss the posed shots you want, but we are also good at capturing the candid and un-posed moments of the blessed day.

The Digital Darkroom

Experienced with Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, our photo editors digitally enhance and perform advanced color correction on every photo we take. Several photos are significantly digitally enhanced with airbrushing and other cosmetic and/or artistic improvements. All prints are available in color, black and white or sepia.

We also make copies of several of the photos and perform interesting artistic effects on them such as converting parts of the picture to black and white while leaving other parts in color, converting part (or all) of the image into a watercolor painting or charcoal drawing, etc. At Colorado Film Works, we see each picture as a potential masterpiece.
